Each type of gutter system may need repairs for different reasons.
For example, for tin, galvanized, or painted metal gutters, rust can be a big problem. If it has shown itself, it is recommended to paint over the places of occurrence with paint with anti-corrosion properties or to cover with enamel in the case of polymer-coated metal elements. If the rust has damaged the surface too much, first you need to clean it with a stiff metal brush, then wipe it with a solvent, and let it dry for a while. Later it is necessary to apply a layer of epoxy, press down on the fiberglass patch, and recoat again. Such an operation will prolong the life of the entire system.
If cracks or small holes appear on the surface of the pipe or gutter, self-adhesive bitumen tape should be used for repair. This is quite simple to do, and the seams are practically invisible as a result.
If a large crack has become a problem, the same material from which the gutter or pipe was made should be used for repair. At the first stage, the place of damage should be covered with a small layer of mastic as a putty, then glue the patch, removing the remnants of the mastic. This must be done immediately, after drying it will be more difficult to do.
