Tips for installing PVC siding

Important! For the installation to go well, and the coating to last a long time, one thing should be learned about PVC siding: it is subject to thermal deformation. This means that when the air temperature becomes very high, the panel will expand, and when it is very low, it will contract. When the average temperature returns to normal, the size is restored. This property carries both pros and cons. The plus is that the coating does not deform in any way, does not delaminate, does not crack, it is plastic and adapts to environmental conditions. The downside is that if somewhere during installation you do not leave the material a gap for this thermal compression-expansion, then the sheathing will go in a wave, and it will no longer be able to return its previous elegant look.
Therefore, when installing, follow a few simple rules:

never fit panels and planks back to back, leave 5-6 mm between them;

do not tighten the self-tapping screw all the way, leave one turn in a couple of millimeters;

try to fit the fastener exactly in the middle of the oblong hole intended for it;

do not overlap the panels, use the specially designed strip for joining;

use the strips recommended by the manufacturer and in the appropriate places, do not skimp on additional elements.
